Monday, March 31st

Opening Night

The Cheese Snatchers – Alec Pollard – 3 min
A small band of toy soldiers discover that crime does not pay when dealing with “Drat” the rat.

The Noble Lie – Mitch Lusas – 17 min
Some people have qualifications for the person they choose to fall in love with; but what happens when the impossible happens? Karen has her life figured out. The man she falls in love with must meet her criteria. But when Will meets those qualifications, Karen becomes confused and scared.

Spider Cookies – Kevin Nikkel – 2 min
Two kids learn to bake with their father – with comic results.

The Woodsman and the Woods of Death – Matt Bilen – 23 min
A selfish warrior finds the value of friendship and compassion when he is hired by the forest wiseman to save furry little creatures from certain destruction at the hands of an evil wizard and his tree minions.

Dependence – Tamara Shaya – 12 min
The story of two brothers – one is a male nurse who desperately wants to help his brother; the other is a drug addict who will only accept help in the form of pills.

The Gift – Katherine & Peter Maly – 8 min
A young girl expresses concern for a friend by giving up a precious gift in this adaptation of a children’s book.

The Glory Generation – Rayne Warne – 23 min
A Christian television program designed to bring the reality of the kingdom of Power and Glory into people’s houses

Holding – Thomas Brandon – 8 min
Are some people more attuned to spiritual occurrences than others? What would life for a police detective be if he could commune with the victim to learn how the victim was killed?

The Freshman – Matt Sommerfield – 13 min
When a new student arrives on campus for a visit, an all out war breaks out between the dorms who are recruiting him.  Hilarity ensues.

One man struggles with image, authenticity, and faith. 

Kitchen Hockey – Kevin Nikkel – 2 min
Two youngsters play some old time shuny (?) on the kitchen hardwoods.

Finding Oz – Derek Scott – 21 min
The story of three women, each of whom has come to New York in search of the thing missing in her life. This modern-day “Wizard of Oz” reveals its narrative without a word of spoken dialogue, instead using a soundtrack of six songs woven together to tell its story.

Abigail – Lauran Holton – 7 min
In the eyes of a child, her spirit still dances.

The cross – Majdi Ammari – 9 min
A very poor guy fails to save someone’s life because of money.

Twilight Rain – Mitch Lusas – 11 min
Two people are running from the law, but are they running for the same reason? One person believes he is running because of fraudulent taxation status; the other… she believes she is defective.

GUESTS & SPEAKERS

D. DarkDavid Dark (Keynote Speaker), is author of Everyday Apocalypse: The Sacred Revealed in Radiohead, The Simpsons, and Other Pop Culture Icons and The Gospel According To America: A Meditation On A God-Blessed, Christ-Haunted Idea, which was included in Publishers' Weekly 's top religious books of 2005.  He has presented at the Cinema Studies Conference, Arkansas Literary Festival, and Festival of Faith and Music.

 

Darren Wilson is an independent filmmaker and Assistant Professor at Judson University, in Elgin, Illinois.  Darren earned his MFA in Script and Screenwriting from Regent University, in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  Darren recently released his first feature film, Finger of God, which details his personal journey around the world in search of the miraculous.  He is currently working on his next feature, Furious Love

 



Stephen Vidano earned a BA in Communication from Seattle Pacific University and started his film career in post-production at Seattle Post & Post Production.  Disappointed with the material he was editing, Vidano dreamed of taking the next step.  Since then, Stephen has directed and shot world-class productions across the globe. He most recent finished directing the documentary Star of Bethlehem and the made-for-TV movie Tilly, written by best-selling author Frank Peretti.
